Larnaca and Paphos international airports are the main airports in Cyprus, together serving over 7 million passengers every year.
Project: LARNACA & PAPHOS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTS
Sector: Airport Security
Location: CYPRUS
Glosec applied its security doctrine to Larnaca and Paphos international airports, using the concept of “concentric protection circles” in line with EU regulations. The security systems covered the apron area where aircraft are parked, unloaded/loaded, refueled, and boarded, as well as the terminals and the most sensitive areas such as the airside and mission-criticalrooms. Each of these areas received its own tailor-made solution, such as an access control system, including sophisticated customized biometric solutions, a surveillance system including video analytics, interfaces with the baggage handling system and the IATA-approved check-in ticketing system, an enhanced automatic door control system on the passenger rotundas, and a command and control center, including a data center. The Glosec doctrine is not fulfilled simply by installing hi-tech systems. Following installation, we conduct training and courses so the local security team can operate at their best and maintain competency over the long term.
